This Caribbean RYA Start Yachting 2-day course is perfect for absolute beginners to have an introduction to sailing, focusing on enjoying the experience while learning the basics about sailing.

Course Content

Also geared for the casual sailor who wants to have some structure, the Caribbean RYA Start Yachting 2-day course is designed to teach you the basics of helming, safety,  trimming the sails, as well as line handling and a few knots.  In the Caribbean our course is based from Jolly Harbour Marina on the west coast of the island, in sheltered waters with steady wind and beautiful sandy beaches.  The course is normally held over the weekend and can include accommodation on board our sailboats by prior arrangement.

All of our practical sailing courses are limited to four students on board. This allows us to give you maximum individual attention and for our instructors to create a bespoke sailing experience for each and every one of our students.

Groups of 5 can be accommodated on our Dufour 44’ should you wish to book together and enjoy the course as part of a larger group.

Prerequisites

• None!  Ok maybe an open can-do attitude and a smile
• Just come and join us for two days of sailing!

Next Steps

Following your RYA Start Yachting course, you will be able to move directly to the RYA Competent Crew 5-day course and with your existing certificate, and possibly reduce the course days on board to 3 or 4. We suggest the option of taking the online RYA Essential Navigation course to take advantage of your time on the water prior to joining for the competent crew course.
