Going to Second Star Sailing school office in Antigua
Our school’s office address is Sorrento Building, Jolly Harbour, it is located in a brand new building, a little past Jolly Harbour Customs and Immigration office, right next to Al Porto Restaurant. You can easily search for the school on Google Maps and it will take you directly to us.
The school and our boats are not located in the Jolly Harbour Marina, but are right in front of our office – what a view!
We don’t provide transportation to of from the school office, there are several ways to reach the school yourself:
By car
It’s about 35 minute drive from V.C Bird International Airport in Antigua, 30 minute drive from St. John and 45 minute drive from English Harbour or Falmouth. There are many taxis around, as well as several car rental companies on the island – you can find all information online. If you are taking a taxi, you can pay cash – US dollars (40-50$ USD) or Eastern Caribbean dollars (110-140$ XCD).
Tip: When heading to Second Star Sailing office, be sure to ask the taxi to take you to Al Porto Restaurant. We’ve changed our location in 2024, but some drivers may still take students to our previous spot at the Villa out of habit.
By bus
You can also take a bus Nr. 20 or 22, but be ready to walk – it is about a 15 minute walk from the bus stop to the base – 1 km. It is an easy walk – flat asphalt road leading to the office through Jolly Harbour center and past the Marina. However, you have to consider the hot Caribbean sun that will be following you on the way.
After your course on Thursday, we can arrange a taxi to your accommodation or the airport. Just inform your instructor or the office (on Thursday morning) of your preferred time and group size. It’s 30 minutes to the airport, 45 to English Harbour, and 20 to St. John’s. Sharing with course mates can be cheaper and more convenient, as larger cars are available for groups at no extra cost!
