Private Sailing Tuition Antigua | Bespoke 5-Day Coaching | Book the Whole Boat

Create a sailing trip that’s built entirely around you. Our Private Tuition programmes offer five days (or more!) of fully bespoke sail training—either within the RYA scheme or as a Skills Week with no certification pressure. Sail and learn on a Second Star Sailing yacht or on your own vessel or on a chartered vessel, with individual coaching tailored to your goals, pace, and experience. Live on board or sleep ashore depending on your preferences.

Ideal for local sailors looking to upskill on their own boats or ours, visiting sailors who want privacy and individual training or coaching, families wanting a memorable on-the-water holiday, or corporate teams seeking a unique, engaging team-building experience.

What Will You Learn

Your week is designed around your objectives. Typical focus areas include:

  • Boat handling under sail and power, including close-quarters manoeuvres
  • Sail trim, helming, and confidence in varied conditions
  • Navigation, pilotage, and passage planning (RYA-aligned if required)
  • Anchoring, mooring, berthing, and marina procedures
  • Onboard safety, seamanship, and emergency scenarios
  • Crew communication, leadership, and decision-making
  • Confidence-building coaching for skippers, couples, or families

RYA Pathway (Optional): If you choose an RYA pathway, training aligns with the standards of the Royal Yachting Association (e.g., RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper Practical).
Skills Week (Optional): Focus purely on experience, repetition, and confidence—no exams, no certificates, just great sailing.

During the course we sail to different locations around Antigua and Barbuda (and potentially to other Caribbean islands), click HERE for a chart of the island.
