RYA PowerboatRYA Powerboat Level 2 certification courses are primarily designed for recreational boaters and allow you to skipper your own boat or take out/charter a powerboat locally or on vacation, and you can obtain an International Certificate of Competence with your RYA PBL2. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats.
- RYA Powerboat Level 1 (Start Powerboating)
- RYA Powerwerboat Level 2 you do not have to take PBL1 before you take PBL2.
- RYA Powerboat certificates can be commercially endorsed, allowing the holders to use them while working on a superyacht for example.
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification on its own does not allow the holder to run charters in Antigua.
ADOMS Boatmaster courses are requirements toward the professional qualifications needed to work on a vessel in Antigua and in the wider Caribbean, and range from Boatmaster Grade 3 to Boatmaster Grade 1 (which is the highest level). This course is a combination of theory and practice and focuses on safety, navigation, seamanship, SVC code, and boat handling.
