Our Bases
Second Star Sailing is a RYA Recognized Training Centre, a sailing school recognized by the prestigious British Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
From your very first day at sea to the mastering of professional maritime certifications, we have created a great variety of options and experiences that are designed to help our students grow their nautical skills in an interactive way in fantastic locations.
Jolly Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda, CARIBBEAN
Our base in Antigua is located in Jolly Harbour, St. Mary Parish.
The marina is well protected but close to the open sea, allowing everyone, from beginners to experienced sailors, to find new angles and experiences when sailing with us.
From Jolly Harbour we can explore the island and its 365 beaches during a Competent Crew or Day Skipper course, while we can visit our neighboring islands of Barbuda, St. Kitts, Nevis or St. Barths during a Coastal Skipper course, or even sail to Grenada or Martinique during a milebuilder, a cruising event or Yachtmaster course.
In Antigua we offer all the RYA Sail cruising scheme courses on three levels: Start Sailing, Become a Skipper, Become a Yachtmaster – as well as one-day courses such as VHF SRC Radioand special workshops.
We participate in the whole season of the Caribbean Sailing Association regattas, from Grenada Sailing Week to the fabulous RORC 600 Caribbean, to the Heineken Regatta in Sint Maarten, to name a few.
Our Women at the Helm programs are also fully supported in the Caribbean for female sailors wishing to learn or cruise in a group of women led by our female skippers and instructors.
From our base we also offer special events, one-day cruises and sunset sails, as well as cruises for singles, families and friends.
Last, but definitely not least, our Sustainability at Sea programs are particularly focused here in the Caribbean where the ecosystems are fragile and resources few. So we specialize in teaching an approach to sailing that lowers our impact on the environment and betters the quality of the sea that surrounds us.
